What we do with your details

Short version: we use them to answer your enquiry, we keep them while that is going on, and we do not sell or share them.

What we collect

Only what you type into the contact form — your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and postcode — plus the message itself. The form also records the IP address the enquiry came from, which is used to stop automated spam and nothing else.

Why we have it

To reply to you, quote for work, and arrange it if you go ahead. The lawful basis is your consent when you tick the box, and thereafter our legitimate interest in dealing with an enquiry you made.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted after [12 months]. Where we have carried out work, we keep the job record for [6 years], which is the period we may need it for guarantees, insurance and tax.

Who else sees it

Nobody, beyond the mail provider that carries the message and the company hosting this website. We do not sell data, we do not share it with marketing companies, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked about a conservatory.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets one cookie, which keeps the contact form secure between the page loading and you submitting it. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google’s servers see the request for the font file.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email sales@mgpatrickson.co.uk and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle that, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Last updated [date]. This is a plain-English notice written to cover an ordinary trade contact form. If you start collecting more than this — analytics, a mailing list, online payment — have it checked by someone who does data protection for a living.
